Running injury history

Detailed Injury and Training History

We begin with an in-depth consultation to understand your training regimen, running footwear, running goals, and any past or current injuries. This information allows us to tailor our assessment based on your unique needs and any specific concerns you may have. Knowing your history helps us pinpoint potential factors contributing to injuries or limitations in performance.

Musculoskeletal Screening & Strength Profile

Next, we perform a comprehensive musculoskeletal (MSK) screening. This screening includes assessments of joint mobility, flexibility, and muscle activation patterns. We specifically profile the strength of key muscle groups critical for runners, such as the glutes, hamstrings, quads, and core. By identifying imbalances or weaknesses, we can determine areas that may be limiting your performance or placing undue stress on your body.

Treadmill Gait Analysis

Our treadmill gait analysis allows us to capture and analyse your running mechanics in real-time. Using high-definition video, advanced gait analysis software and clinical expertise we assess stride length, foot strike, cadence, knee, hip and trunk alignment, and other critical aspects of your running form. The collection of this detailed analysis provides insight into any compensations or asymmetries in your movement that may contribute to inefficiency or injury risk. Our experience and a body of research clearly shows gait analysis and modification can be highly effective tool in returning an injured runner back to performance.
